Springberries Needlecase

I stitched this lovely needlecase a design from Cinderberry stitches
Inside!

However I used a hand dyed thread, and didn't check for colourfastness.
As a result, when I steam pressed the design, the dye ran, as you can see here.
I was very disappointed, as I had planned to send it to a friend as a gift, my God-daughter, hearing of this, stepped into the breach and "found it a good home"!

I am working on a second attempt, with colour fast thread.
Why is learning from one's mistakes so painful?

Hi Clare, I love this design for you needlebook and the fabric is wonderful.

How is the sock knitting going. You were not so far along that starting over should not be an issue. Just remember to keep the needles that you are working on closest to you.

Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Hi Clare, I love your needlecase and can imagine how disappointed you were when the colour ran. I have just finished a piece by Leanne Beasley and this was stitched in red and I was so relieve when it did not run. I did use DMC thread. Hope you are well. Hugs, Hazel (UK)

Well, it looks wonderful. what a very hard lesson to learn. So far,
I have only used DMC thread. I would be so mad if that happened to me. Have a good day.

This is just so sweet Clare! I am sure it was a painful mistake but an easily made one. We all have these moments. I must say whoever gave it a good home but be thrilled as it is not a terrible run from the looks of the photo. I am sure that owner is a lucky person. I am sure your second one will be done in no time since you had this practice run.

It is so good to see you back! I hope you got my email this time?

Hugs ~

Oh Clare, I love this little needlebook. It's such a beauty. Sorry that you have to make it again. But then, the first quite obviously found a good home, too, lol.

Both pretty and unusual - well done.

Oh No! I'm so sorry you had to start over! The design is so cute though, I'm not surprised it 'found' a good home anyway. :)

Wow, your Springberries needlecase is absolutely exquisite! Shame about the colour running, although you can't tell that in the photos. It's just gorgeous :)
