Sock SOS

A plea for help from all you sock knitters out there. I am attempting my first pair of socks, and am struggling somewhat - my problem seem to be that I am knitting this sock inside out! What am I doing wrong? Suggestions or remedies greatly appreciated.

Um, try stuffing the sock down into the needles, like you're turning it inside out. This will twist the sock around on the needles so that the outside is facing the outside of the tube, and the inside toward the inside. You should be knitting around the outside of the sock, not down inside the tube of the sock. I hope that makes sense!

Ok, so now I'm thinking it didn't...you don't have to publish all of these from me!!!

So what I first said was, I think that maybe you are knitting from the needle farthest from you instead of the one nearest. You should be knitting the stitches off of the needle closest to you~~and when you hold it out you should see the outside of the sock. And also, the rest of the sock should be "behind" the two needles you're working with.

If that isn't the problem, then email me and I'll try to brainstorm.

Go to the store and buy socks? See, I am no help at all because I cannot knit. Guess you have to wait for my mother or Margaret to answer you...lol!

I would tell you to keep going. It looks fine to me. I like the yarn choice.

It should look okay if you turn it inside out when you finish.

Wow, I'm so impressed, starting a pair of socks?! I'm a new knitter, and I have just finished my very first pair of mittens (fingerless, natch!) - actually, I have only finished the LH mitt, knitting on DPNs is a bit of an eye-opener! Will look forward to seeing your snazzy socks around Christmas time ;) Good luck!
